Puntarenas

Puntarenas is the city head is conurbada with other populations as El Roble, Chacarita and even Esparza. This has given rise to the concept of the Puntarenas, that is a coastal version of the Gran Area Metropolitana .

Also it is the only canton of the country whose territory is sectioned by a gulf, in this case the Golfo de Nicoya, and is one of the few with as different microclimates as those that occur to the border of the sea and Monteverde.
